On the 16th October 2000, my mother disappeared from home. Although a painter up to this point, this event has proved pivotal to my practice, and my struggle to deal with this experience became the main substance of my work, which took the form of painting, photography and video. Themes of love, loss and memory appear throughout this project and the others that follow.
